Time well spent / Meet the Global Leadership Team
Time is such a fickle thing. Some days time can feel slow, a day made up of elastic hours that stretch on and on. Other days it can feel as if the time from dawn to dusk has passed in the blink of an eye. However we experience it, time is a precious thing and we want to invest it wisely, in ways that are memorable and valued.
This week 13 of the 15 Global Leadership team gathered in the UK along with members of the ExCo to start working together. As a reminder, the Global Leadership team members lead significant parts of the Harvey Nash Group businesses or are representatives from a large geographic region. Many of the Global Leadership team had never met each other in person. Like all good relationships it starts with getting to know each other, building common understanding, celebrating the differences and from that, the development of trust. Melanie Hayes, our chief people officer, designed the framework of the two days and like the conductor of a great orchestra helped us invest well in the time spent together. Rob Grimsey our HNG Marketing Director and Robin Beattie ran a session on ideation and our innovation lab. The Global Leadership team members chose what to set their focus on from this point forward, the things that will make a lasting difference.
Two of our Global Leadership team were unable to be with us this week. A reminder that Covid-19 is still very much disrupting our lives. In Vietnam it is still not possible to travel outside of the Country and indeed lockdown in many places remains severe. We missed their participation.

I was able to be with them throughout the two days, dropping in and out of the sessions as required and spending the evenings together. For me too it was the first time I had met some in person, although you think you know somebody through a Teams window I feel that we only truly know each other when we sit together and talk on a personal level.
As we closed off the two days it was a time to reflect on just how good our people are around the Harvey Nash Group of businesses. I fully believe we have the very best of the best in our industry. What left me ‘walking on air’ was that when we work together we are unstoppable, truly we have a limitless future.
As we head towards a weekend I hope you will take time to rest and recuperate, it has been another busy week for us all. Keep safe and well.
