Time well spent in the USA and India
I am consciously aware of my impact on the planet and this has not been lost on me as during the past two weeks I have been in Nashville, USA, and now I am writing this week’s blog from India. This is a significant investment in time and resources and such an important thing to do.
Last week we came together in Nashville as a truly Nash Squared community. In our Strategic Update Webinar this week I talked about how our recent acquisitions in North America give us critical mass to grow. And last week we brought colleagues from Knoldus, NashTech and Harvey Nash who worked together for two days developing tangible focus on growth.
Pace and focus
We left Nashville with a short, focused and high paced timeline on a set of tasks the team are owning. The value of meeting in person, rather than via Teams, cannot be overestimated - especially when you are building new relationships and when people are not used to working together.
When you are sitting with each other it is very clear when there is agreement, confusion, or disagreement on a topic and it is a much more natural and inclusive environment to ensure everyone has a voice and there is full participation.
After a few days back in the UK I was out to India for meetings with our Knoldus colleagues in New Delhi. We met a number of the senior team last year before the acquisition but this time our focus was on real, actionable plans of working together.
We arrived at 4am and were up and running in the office by 10am local time. Life on the road is fun; spending time getting to know colleagues and working on business opportunities is very rewarding, but also involves long and intensive hours.
Meeting the team
Tomorrow we are excited to participate in the Knoldus foundation day which they celebrate together every year. We will get to meet the engineers we have heard so much about in person. I know we cannot wait.
Sunday afternoon Nick Lonsdale and I fly to Hyderabad where we will be spending time with our Harvey Nash colleagues and Pvm Srinivas, MD of Harvey Nash’s recruitment delivery operations in India.
We were there in September last year and were so impressed with the engagement and sheer quality of our colleagues we promised to come back in Q1 this year. I like to keep my promises.
Next week I am joining kick offs where I am sure I will come back inspired and full of energy.
So, as we head towards the weekend I wish everyone some rest and relaxation. Do think of us in India on Saturday and the sheer joy of meeting new colleagues.
Keep safe and well.
