The end can be the start
Today we conclude another year of the Nash Squared World Games.
Over the past 3 weeks colleagues from around the world have covered many kilometres through 40 different sports. Everything from to yoga to swimming, cycling to walking and running. Countries have competed to take this year’s crown as the winners of Nash Squared World Games 2024.
It has been a wonderful way of coming together in pursuit of mental and physical wellbeing and a healthy dose of friendly competition.
I have been in meetings these past few weeks where colleagues have shared how they and their team is doing in the rankings and swapping stories of yoga sessions, lunchtime walks, cycle rides. It’s been fun and I am so glad we did it.
There is so much written about the value of exercise and fresh air on our mental health and wellbeing. Especially so when we are experiencing difficult times in our lives. I personally know the value of a walk at times when my head has been full of noisy thoughts and competing priorities.
I love that we have the Nash Squared World Games in our calendar, but I am also aware of the many things that teams do around our Nash Squared world to come together and get some fresh air. Whether that is walking and talking instead of always meeting in an office.
The end of the World Games doesn’t have to be the end of our exercise and physical wellbeing journey. In fact for a lot of people, the Nash Squared World Games is an opportunity to kickstart a health and wellbeing drive.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the games. I can’t wait to hear who the victors are when I join the closing ceremony later today.
