Mental health – sometimes a walk is not enough
Mental health – sometimes a walk is not enough
Like many of you I’m sure, I enjoy walking and one of my early morning rituals is to take my dog Enzo out into the fresh air. I enjoy being in nature, seeing the trees and leaves, particularly at this time of year in the UK as we are in the middle of autumn or fall as some of you may call it.
It really helps clear my head, and get me ready for the day ahead.
Mental health is so important, in fact there are few things more important.
But with so many pressures we all face, whether that’s from home, work or a whole host of other sources, sometimes walks aren’t enough. If you are feeling down or helpless, it’s not always easy to break out of it. It might feel very personal, endless and unique to you; unsolvable by anyone else.
World Mental Health Day
On Tuesday (10th October) Nash Squared will be recognising World Mental Health Day.
With this I have two messages.
Firstly, look out from communications from the NASHability Employee Resource Group, our team of people from across Nash Squared who have particular insight and passion about improving mental health and accessibility. They will be sharing a wide range of information that can really help support your mental wellbeing.
Secondly, I have a message. I want everyone in Nash Squared to feel we have ‘got their back’ when it comes to their mental health. If you are feeling you need support please don’t be afraid to reach out to your manager or People & Culture / HR lead, or if you are unsure who to contact please reach out to me.
Whether it’s taking time to walk in the park, or getting more structured support from others, there are so things we can do to improve our wellbeing. World Mental Health Day is a valuable reminder.
Have a great weekend.
