All in the balance
I always find that if I immerse myself in nature and spend time in the great outdoors that whatever worries or concerns that I have been carrying with me tend to become lighter loads and I push them firmly into perspective. Taking Enzo out for a walk in the early morning or evening, or going to see the mini donkeys who are the cutest little animals I might add, help shift how I feel in an instant.
A similar effect for me happens when I close my eyes and take a few deep calming breaths. Some would call this meditation; I am not sure I am that skilled in this art but I find that if I am in a noisy busy space, it is a great way to re-centre myself and I feel my heart rate coming back to something less intense. Both of these are ways I manage the highs and lows of life in general and in business.
You received my postcard a few weeks ago about the importance I place on taking a break. I add this week’s thoughts about taking a micro break when things become a bit intense as a way of sharing what I do to keep myself as balanced as possible when we are navigating our way through life. It really can help change the way we think or feel about something by shifting what we are doing even for a short while.
Recently I hopped on to our Wellbeing Hub and found some fantastic videos and articles which gave me even more ideas to incorporate into my micro breaks.
With the weekend coming up I hope you get the chance to get some time for well-earned rest and relaxation. Keep safe and well.
